Work

From Trucks to Aircraft. Give me a broken machine, a difficult situation and a bit of time, and we’ll figure it out.

Work, Experience & Starting Over

Work has been a pretty big part of my life.

I’ve spent more than 36 years around transportation, aviation, dealerships, fleet operations, parts, service and everything that comes with keeping people and equipment moving.

I’ve worked my way from turning wrenches to managing people, operations, budgets, customers, suppliers and entire fleet and dealership operations.

I’ve had great jobs, difficult jobs, opportunities I didn’t expect and a few situations that taught me lessons the hard way.

I’ve also learned that a career isn’t always a straight line.

Sometimes you make a change.

Sometimes circumstances make the change for you.

And sometimes, at 53, you find yourself asking:

“What do I want to do next?”

This is where I’ll share stories about my working life, the lessons I’ve picked up along the way, career changes, management, the transportation industry, dealing with people, finding work, starting over and figuring out what comes next.

Because one thing I’ve learned is that losing a job doesn’t mean you’ve lost everything you’ve built.

Experience doesn’t disappear.

And neither does the desire to keep moving forward.
